When the dog bites, when the bee stings. Who is singing with me? I love The Sound of Music. Ahh Captain Von Trapp I swoon. Remember when Lady Gaga did the tribute at the Oscars? Amazing!
Well lets get to it, a few things I simply don't wish to live without. My "favorites".
Triple Rx: Triple Rx products by Amika are my go to shampoo, conditioner, and treatment. They keep my hair moisturized and in great shape no matter how badly I treat it. Most of us abuse our hair and this is how we make it up to our strands. Free of sulfate, sodium chloride, parabens and artificial colors you can use it knowing you're treating your hair right. What makes this shampoo different is Amika's use of Sea Buckthorn Berry, a super-fruit also known as Obliphica. Rich in antioxidants, essential amino acids, vitamin E, and rare Omega 7. The berry is a food source vs products which use a chemical base, so your hair instantly absorbs the berry's nutrients. (shampoo and conditioner $21 each and in salon treatment $15)
Mango Smoothie: So Panera got me started on the mango smoothie. I won't say "they are to blame" as I am happy to be so hooked on a treat that is good for you! As a way to cut down on my drive through runs I perfected my own recipe. You must try it and don't let the green color scare you it tastes fantastic!! Here is my ingredient list, its so simple just toss it all in your blender and you're ready to go. 8oz coconut water, 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks, 1 banana. 2 big handfuls of spinach (I like the Organic Girl Super Spinach), a dollop or two of vanilla yogurt, and 1/2 tbls of chia seeds. So healthy so yummy. I've been drinking these on my way to the salon each day . Wonder if I'll still want to now that the snow is falling.
Bioelements: Skin care that wards off winter dryness and fine lines, bring it my way. I always use their Moisture Positive Cleanser ($37) along with Crucial Moisture ($34.50) as my skin tends to get dry and tight feeling. I've recently discovered Sleepwear for Eyes ($51.50). this product reduces puffiness and really helps me awake looking well rested! Bioelements never uses artificial colorants, synthetic fragrances or parabens which can irritate and damage the skin. Their products are also cruelty free as are all of my "favorites".
Pravana Perfect Blonde: This is for my Hilight and Balayage girls. Whether your blonde, bronde or somewhere in between. There are many blue/purple based shampoos on the market, but this one packs the most punch. The Perfect Blonde contains optical brighteners and is designed to eliminate gold or brassy tones from your hair. I recommend the shampoo/conditioner combo for those who like to keep their hair as cool as possible. I like the mask for those looking to extend the life of their toners. (all products in the perfect blonde line retail for $19.98)
Fusion Warriors: Over the summer my daughter became obsessed with the show American Ninja Warrior. Shortly there after, lucky for me, I came across Green Bay Fusion on facebook. They were advertising their Fusion Warriors class and offering a web special. I did not need to ask twice if my daughter wanted to sign up, the answer was "YES MOM". If you checkout their fb page you'll see a lot of the post are about their competitive cheer teams but there is a lot more to their gym. I've been so impressed by the mood of the gym. Everyone is very friendly and inclusive and we are only there for one class a week. My daughters class is Tiny Warriors, 3 and 4 year olds, and they go go go for a full 45 minute class. The instructors have been amazing and much of the equipment is reminiscent of the show (if you too have a fan). If your little wants to be a ninja also check out their facebook and website www.fusionathleticsgb.com
Puff.Me: To finish out the list I may have saved the best for last. Puff.Me is a new product on the market and I have never used anything like it. It is similar to a hair powder although I've never used another hair powder I liked. This powder sprays out in a tiny little puff. It is easily directed right at the root where you need it for volume and texture. Speaking of volume and texture Puff. Me will give you both like nothing ever has. Here is how I use it, I style as usual, then go back in, lifting sections horizontally to puff my powder in. I then rub the hair at my scalp to evenly distribute. One of the best parts about Puff. Me is it improves my second day hair look. If you are currently rocking the ever popular lob or your are a fan of texture I know you will love Puff.Me as much as I do. (puff.me retails for $19.50)
